Exterior Signage System – Parks Canada

The Parks Canada Identity Program’s Exterior Signage Standards and Guidelines is a 395-page document that details virtually all allowable sign/messaging configurations, material and fabrication specifications, and site planning guidelines, for Parks Canada’s exterior signage system.

While the development of the signage standards was, without a doubt, a great team effort (for which we received the CEO Award of Excellence) there are a couple of specific undertakings where the work was entirely, or almost entirely my own – the fee signs with interchangeable panels and all of the technical drawings for fabrication and assembly.

Years later, Steelie Design was contracted to do further design exploration on off-site signs to incorporate the beaver symbol, and then incorporate approved changes back into the Exterior Signage Standards and Guidelines.
